St. Bartholomew Church (Nagcarlan)

This church is a tiered-wall church created by the Franciscans from 1500 to 1700. A fire destroyed the original church but it was rebuilt in 1781.

St. Bartholomew Church was designed in Baroque-style. Its facade has a semi-circular arched main entrance flanked by semi-circular windows. Its bell has Islamic style crenellations.

Architectural details include, tall pedestals which raise the columns on the second level, fenestrations and columns of varying number and length.

St. John the Baptist Church (Liliw)

(Filipino: Simbahan ng Parokya ni San Juan Bautista), also known as Liliw Church or Lilio Church, is one of the Roman Catholic churches in Liliw, Laguna. Its feast is celebrated every August 29 known as the Martyrdom of St. John the Baptist.

The church is known for its red bricked façade and baroque style.

St. Mary Magdalene Church (Magdalena)

Magdalena, Laguna is the “Home of the Famous St. Mary Magdalene Church.” This church was constructed in 1851-1871. It is made of stones and brick with a sandstone facade.
Located at the town center or plaza, just across from the municipal town hall of Magdalena.

St. James the Apostles Church (Paete)

Paete, Laguna, a town famous for its skilled woodcarvers and woodcrafts, was founded in 1580 by the Rev. Juan Plasencia. Its first stone church and convent was built in 1646 but was destroyed in an earthquake in 1717.

Another church was constructed in 1717 but was also destroyed in the earthquake of 1880. The church built in 1884 was again, destroyed in the earthquake of 1937.

At present, buttresses support the church to make it structurally sound. Since the 1970s, the present church has been undergoing restorations and renovations.

St Peter of Alcantara Parish (Pakil)

The St. Peter of Alcantara Parish Church (Filipino: Simbahan ng Parokya ni San Pedro Alcantara), designated as the Diocesan Shrine of Nuestra Señora de los Dolores de Turumba, is one of the Roman Catholic churches in Pakil, Laguna.

The shrine is home to Our Lady of Turumba.

St Jerome Parish Church (Morong)

The town of Morong traces its origins to the pioneering work of the Franciscans Juan de Plasencia and Diego de Oropesa. Both were responsible for starting most of the lake town mission in 1578.

Fr. Plasencia was well known for his mastery of Tagalog and is credited with compiling a dictionary of the vernacular and writing the draft of a catechism which is later used for composing the Doctrina Christiana (1593), the first book printed in the Philippines.

It was not until 1586, that Morong had a friar permanently assigned to attend to the people. The church, dedicated to St. Jerome, stood on the opposite bank of the Morong River where the church stands now.

In 1612 a fire consumed the town and with it the church. The townsite was transferred to its present position in 1617. A new church was completed in 1620. The church remained substantially unchanged until 1850-53, when Fr. Maximo Rico commissioned Bartolome Palatino, a native of Paete, to renovate the facade and build a bell tower. In 1962, the church interior was renovated and facade coated with Portland cement.

During the renovation, the dimensions of the windows along the nave were increased and other openings added to the wall adjacent to the convento. The convento is now a school, although a room on the ground floor adjacent to the church has been set aside for a Blessed Sacrament room.
