Taal Volcano Crater Trek

Taal Volcano, sitting on Volcano Island in Taal Lake, is the smallest and lowest volcano in the world (311 meters).

Drive South from Manila for 2 hours, go on board a small “Banca” boat, for a 30 minutes crossing, then walk for 1 hour, up to the rim of the crater.

At the summit you can rest and enjoy the view of the inner Crater Lake. Return to the ridge and relax with a lakeside set lunch.

Duration: 8 hours.

A boatride and trek up to the smallest and lowest volcano in the world sitting on, Volcano Island, Taal Lake.

Overnight stay with breakfast in Tagaytay Ridge can also be arranged by us upon request.

Itinerary

Choose 8am or 09:30 am to be picked up in a private, chauffeur driven, air-con car for a 1.5/2 hours drive to Talisay, Batangas.

Around 10 to 11:00 am board a motorized outrigger “Banca” boat for a 30 minute ride to Taal Volcano Island.

Accompanied by a local English speaking guide, for a 1 hour walk up to the rim of the crater. It is an easy walk, but there is loose lava sand and it will be warm.

At the top you can enjoy the beautiful view of the inner Crater Lake. Rest, then return to the ridge and relax with a lakeside set lunch.
Depart to Manila and drop off around 4:00pm.

Exclusions

Upon arrival with the boat, locals will try to sell you a ride up on a horse. They can sometimes be quite persistent. Note that riding a horse is NOT included in the tour.

Things To Bring

The trek itself can be quite hot. We recommend taking suntan lotion, a hat and a change of shirt for the journey home. The lava sand is soft (see picture) so you may want to bring an extra pair of socks if you opt for closed shoes.
